Courtney Bird, MSOM, L.Ac is a California state licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She began her journey in natural medicine in 2002 at the College of Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, CA. Here she trained to become a massage therapist with a focus on eastern bodywork techniques. In 2009, she passed NCBTMB exam and received her national certification in massage therapy and bodywork.
During her studies she learned about Chinese Medicine and Acupressure points. She found that using this system of medicine produced highly effective results in her massage practice. This inspired her to deepen her knowledge and pursue a career as an acupuncturist. Courtney completed a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at South Baylo University in Anaheim, CA. She continued her education by attending advanced training at The Institute of Classical Five Elements Acupuncture in Santa Monica, CA. Classical Five Elements acupuncture is a unique style of medicine that diagnoses and treats the root cause of disease. The treatment combines moxibustion with acupuncture to nourish and elegantly restore health and well-being to the mind, body and spirit.
She is experienced in treating women's health, chronic illness, fertility, neck and back pain, knee pain, frozen shoulder, diabetes, headaches and insomnia. Courtney is passionate about helping others restore health and balance to their lives using both ancient and modern applications of natural medicine.
